San Luis Obispo finished an impressive 2nd overall at the Pasadena Rugby Sevens, boasting teams such as The Celtics, Los Angeles, Riverside and Escondido. San Luis Obispo travelled with only 7 players, which was probably their downfall in the final. The highlight of the day would have to be defeating Los Angeles when it counted, in the Cup Semi Final. San Luis Obispo had earlier lost by the narrowest of margins after Michael Doig was unable to convert from the sideline after full time.
